Ever find yourself scrolling mercilessly thru your Facebook feed?

Most of the time you don’t even look for anything particular and then BAM! funny cat video or BOOM! Mouth watering delicious food, but you know that you can’t even boil water.

9/10 Times that’s how everyone approaches social media, you’ll “like” something here and there, but it takes something extra special to catch your eye. Something that is just screaming LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! Well that was the case in Paige’s situation

“The first time I came across TFW, I was scrolling down my Facebook feed at 3am”

People wonder why they are tired the next day…It’s because you’re up until 3 in the morning doing nothing, but staring deeply at a blue screen, but as we all know things happen for a reason.

“I saw the link for the eight-week transformation and thought If only I could do something like that.”

It doesn’t matter how old you are or how young you are at some point in your life you may find that you’ve fallen off of your path and left your compass at home. You don’t know how, when, or even why, but sooner or later all of a sudden your motivation and your energy are gone. You feel like there were things that made you smile and feel good about yourself, but you don’t know how to get back to them.19598826_1588229274581561_2341691368506946886_n

Paige was no different and at times felt lost in the woods, she had fallen out of her own exercise routine and developed several unhealthy living habits.

She stopped going to college

Stopped playing sports

And stopped taking advantage of life’s opportunities

“It wasn’t until about a month later that I would turn it all around.”

Coach Mike and the familia at Training for Warriors Doylestown helped me get back to my happy life.

When opportunity knocks you have to answer because who knows when and IF it’ll ever knock again. The universe was speaking and this time Paige was listening, she was scrolling her Facebook newsfeed again and guess what popped up “HUGE OPPORTUNITY.”

“Something pushed me in head first so I filled out the form and waited for the call”

Just like the first day of school or a new job we have an orientation, especially for our transformation program participants. We go over expectations, habits, questions, and even hear past success stories from the individuals who experienced it. Some people walk in giddy with excitement while other walk in somewhat reserved and keep to themselves.

“I had an awful fever and absolutely zero desire to be there. Never had I felt so vulnerable, but that changed as soon as the first person stood in front of me to share their story”

Every time I visit my grandfather that’s the first thing he always said to me “Hey Michael! What’s the story?” and at the time I thought it was just a cheesy grandpa thing to say, but he was so wise and I didn’t even realize it. I never realized the importance of a story or a tale until that moment and I asked myself, “what is my story?” Stories are everything!

During all of our transformation orientation’s person after person will reminisce about their first time, thoughts, and feelings about being in the gym and told us about their journey with TFW. The next time the program starts up 10 different people ask “Can I share my story to the next group?”

She felt vulnerable and intimidated

“As I felt, these heartwarming and personal stories it made me feel like I could belong to something bigger than just a gym.”

When you build a house the first thing you need to do is build a strong foundation and the stories that happen here are our foundation. The support of the familia is the framework of the house, but you can’t build it without hard work, purpose, and discipline.

It’s the stories that you hear on that first day that will have you coming back three times a week.

It’s the stories you’ll hear before every workout that will inspire you to work harder

And they’ll also help make you better person outside of the dojo

“I may be young but I know enough to say that without TFW I wouldn’t be in such a happy place in my life right now. Do what you need to do to be happy.”

Paige may be living 2,000 miles away from her home, but she is now BACK in college at Utah State University.

“Although I’m sad to be missing out on workouts and charity events and such, I can’t wait to come back home and see my familia and to anyone who reads this, never think that an opportunity presented to you like the ones TFW offers are inaccessible. ”

Age, size, gender, none of that matters when you are determined to make yourself better. When you surround yourself with people on the same mission as you anything is possible.

“The only thing scarier than doing new things is never doing anything.”
