Look back at the last 365 days, I’m sure you’ve had your shares of highs and lows
Amy’s year on the other hand has been nothing but a whirlwind
For months she had been suffering from a FUO (Fever of Unknown Origin) for months (August 2016-February 2016) bouncing from doctor to doctor and in/out of the hospital/ER. To control the fever, she was put on Prednisone, which turned her whole life upside down. Feelings of anger and depression were as constant as her appetite to eat everything in sight.
She had also put exercise and healthy eating on the backburner.
In March 2016, the University of Penn finally diagnosed her with an unknown virus and they finally slowly weaned her off the steroids. By June 2016 it was time to take control of her life back; it was time to start focusing on herself again.
Amy had tried joining a 4 week wellness program at a local gym but didn’t feel comfortable there – the trainer didn’t even take the time to learn anyone’s names .
She began searching for something that would help me fall in love with exercise and training so that she would be motivated to stick with it.
She saw something pop up on her Facebook
“I had wanted to try and to start his 8 week program in the Fall of 2016 but was physically not able to due to the FUO”
“I was hooked from day 1”
“I can remember walking into the Dojo like it was yesterday – everyone was so friendly and smiling – even though it was 5:30AM – there were words of encouragement and high fives all around!”
Amy had wanted to be faster at sprinting, she wanted to do push-ups the ‘right way.’
One of the best parts of TFW is how EVERYONE is supportive, encouraging, and motivating! There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think about or talk about TFW – it has become a major part of my life, one that I am proud of. I would not be the healthy and happy person I am today without TFW!
